Preface

Usually, when I post THK Laws, I don’t like to describe a personal motivation behind them, since it’s pretty self explanatory. However, in this case I feel like some is mandatory. Maybe it’s due to the fact that some females might hate on me after I post this, and I need some ammo for the gun fight.

Having said that, have you even seen a legendary Chris Rock bit in Bigger & Blacker about women being the biggest liars? If no, you are missing out on the good stuff. Go on YouTube right now and watch it! Here is a little preview. Just watching this video should give you an idea of where this law is coming from.

Law

The level of attractiveness of your ‘special’ female friend is not constant over time. Instead, it is a function of your relationship length that follows this curve:

Detailed Description

The first year of your relationship is called the transient period. At this time you have trouble nailing down how hot your girlfriend really is. One time, when you are having coffee at Starbucks, she looks like a stunning 10. Another time, you accidentally catch her without makeup and a hairdo and you think she is a wrong person. You say to her that she looks different, she calls you an asshole. This fluctuations continue for about a year.

After the first year, when you finally get used to each other, your perception of her attractiveness reaches a steady state. At this point, you hardly notice any changes and to you she always looks about the same. She is finally glad that you don’t call her different every morning, but she starts calling you an asshole for not complimenting her, when she dresses up for a night out.

Dangerous Consequence – Or One of the Reasons Why Some Men Cheat

Have you ever asked yourself a question: why did that guy cheat on his girlfriend with another girl who is less attractive? If yes, the answer is simple. It’s easy to show on an example.

Suppose, Steve is dating Margaret, who on her good day is a 9 and on her bad day is a 7. According to THK’s Law of Female Attractiveness after a year his perception of her averages out to 8. Now, suppose that Steve has a coworker named Anna, who is on her good day is a 8.5 and on her bad day is a 6.5. Given that Steve only sees her at work, his perception of her is 8.5. Therefore, Steve thinks that Anna is more attractive then Margaret. Assuming that Steve is pretty shallow and values Margaret only for her appearance, he is likely to cheat on her with Anna.
