I’m currently enrolled in a graduate computer graphics course that covers various non-photo realistic rendering concepts. One the things that I got to work on as a part of the course was a half-toning technique based on Weighted Voronoi stippling. Stippling is a way to simulate varying degrees of shading and tone in an image using a number of small dots.
This assignment was really cool, so I want to share with you some of my results. You can view the full report at http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~alopyrev/cs791/stippling_report.html, but here are some of the result images that I’ve obtained. Let me know what you think.
